5 Day Tour From Agador To Desert Experience :

This tour is the perfect match to combine with a beach holiday if you stay in Agadir for 2 weeks. There is so much to see and explore in those 5 days on the other side of the Atlas mountains! Also a perfect choice for families with Teenager-Kids.

Day 1 : Agadir – Taroudant – Aït-Ben-Haddou (370 km)

You start your adventure today morning with the drive to Taroudant. This fortified city is the little sister of Marrakech with a small Souk and impressing city walls. Go for a little walk and soak in the oriental athmosphere.
The next stop is Taliouine, the Safran-capitol of Morocco, where you’ll enjoy lunch in a typical moroccan restaurant.

Shortly before the desert capital Ouarzazate, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Kasbah Aït-Ben-Haddou, a fortified clay city with its numerous ksars and kasbahs, where several famous movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia have been shot. Take a guided tour in this magnificant place and enjoy the panoramic view from the tower on the top of the hill to the High Atlas mountains.

Day 2 : Aït-Ben-Haddou – Anti Atlas – Zagora (200 km)

Today we’re heading to the desert! The first visit of the day is the Kasbah Tifoultoute on the outskirts of Ouarzazate. After crossing the Anti-Atlas, which impresses with ist rocky canyons which look sometimes like a smaller version of the US-Grand Canyon, you arrive at the green and peaceful Draa Valley. This region is famous for its huge date groves and henna fields. Lunch in a Kasbah in Tamnougalt near Agdz with a beautiful, shady terrace.

Zagora is the last city before the real wilderness starts. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your Quad guide and hop on your Quad (or Buggy) for a spectacular ride trough the desert while the sun sinks below the horizon.

Day 3 : Zagora – Alnif – Merzouga (310 km)

Enjoy the different desert landscapes along the way from Zagora to Merzouga. Panoramic views all along the way and so much open space..

Upon arrival in Rissani, we will have the opportunity to visit the local berber market with the «donkey parking» (3 times a week) and have a look at some fossils outside the city.

Shortly after, you’ll spot the high red sand dunes of Merzouga. What a wonder of nature! Upon arrival in Merzouga, you have time to rest a bit in the lodge where you can put your luggage. Meet your camel driver and head to the desert on top of your friendly camel. After arriving at the Sahara Desert Camp, you can climb the high dunes and enjoy the incredible views while the sun sinks below the horizon. Settle in your private tent and drink some mint tea before the traditional dinner is served. You can spend the night watching for shooting stars or dance around the camp fire to the beat of the desert drums.

Day 4 : Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades (270 km)

Wake up by the first strays of light to watch the sunrise over the sahara before you enjoy your typical breakfast in the camp. We return on the camel's back to the desert lodge where our car awaits us for the onward journey.

After lunch break, we will follow the road along the river to reach the gorges of Todra, where you can take a short but spectacular hike between the up to 300 m high rock walls. Before arriving at our Riad for the night in the Dades valley, we head to Boumalne Dades where you can make some nice pictures of the special rock formations which look like monkey hands.

Day 5 : Dades – Rose Valley – Skoura - Agadir (510 km)

The last day has also the longes drive, from Dades back to Agadir. From Dades we drive along the Rose Valley and Skoura Valley on the route of the 1'000 Kasbahs. This is a region with a lot of small villages along the way and you can see how the local community lives. Enjoy your lunch in Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt with its old town or the movie museum on the other side of the road.
After lunch break, we’ll drive the same way back to Agadir as on the first day. Drop off at your hotel in Agadir in the evening.

Pick up at your Hotel in Agadir at 8 am on the first day, arrival at back in Agadir around 8 pm on the last day. It is also possible to end this tour in Marrakech instead of Agadir for a combination of beach holiday, desert tour and city visit.
