4 Days Tour From Agadir to Marrakech, The Highlights of Marrakech & Essaouira :

You want to see a part of the Atlas mountains as well as visit the famous cities of Marrakech and Essaouira? This incredible tour is by far the most comfortable way to do it, so what are you waiting for?

Day 1 : Agadir – Tafraout (180 km)

Let’s start our adventure! Soon after leaving Agadir, we will see the Western Anti-Atlas mountains in front of us. Enjoy the drive through breathtaking landscapes until you reach Tafraout in the valley of Ameln, a Berber town surrounded by pink granite mountains. You’ll see valleys dotted with small villages, argan and almond groves and you can spot some tree-climbing goats along the road.

A little outside of Tafraout we’ll drive over the hills on a unpaved road until we reach the „Pierres Bleues“, a fantastic artpiece made by an artist from Belgium in 1984. The natural rocks are painted in blue, pink and black and look like from another world. Impressing! Overnight in a Riad in Tafraout with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2 : Tafraout – Taroudant – Tizi n’Test – Marrakech (400 km)

You start your day with the drive to Taroudant. This fortified city is the little sister of Marrakech with a small souk and impressing city walls. Go for a little walk or coffee break and soak in the oriental athmosphere.

As we have a long, but beautiful drive before us, we continue directly up the mountains over the Tizi n’Test pass (2’100 m) to reach Marrakech in the late afternoon. In Marrakech, have your dinner on a terrace overlooking famous Jemaa el Fna-Place (not included). Overnight in a Riad in Marrakech with breakfast.

Day 3 : Marrakech walking tour- Essaouira (200 km)

This morning, enjoy the medina of Marrakech and its labyrinth of lively streets and famous souks with a private guide. You’ll visit the famous Palais de Bahia, with its fantastic courtyards and mosaic walls built for Bou Ahmed. After, there is the Medersa Ben Youssef school with its magnificent Arab-Andalusian architecture.Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and notice the difference in architecture in this district. Visit the hidden Saadian tombs built during the reign of Sultan Ahmed El Mansour in 1557. You’ll arrive at the Koutoubia mosque and the Djemaa el Fna-square, where you can drink some fresh pressed orange juice while observing the bustle of the snake charmers, henna tatoo artists and water sellers.

It’s Lunchtime: enjoy lunch in a restaurant overlooking Djemaa el Fna-square. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden. This botanical garden is a quiet oasis and the former home of the famous french designer Yves Saint Laurent. Nowadays, the bright blue villa contains a Berber Museum.

After the visit, we drive about 3 hours to the coast and reach Essaouira in the evening. Enjoy a fresh fish-dinner in one of the nice restaurants in the medina (not included). Overnight in a Riad in Essaouira with breakfast.

Day 4 : Essaouira – Sidi Kaouki - Agadir (190 km)

This morning, you can explore Essaouira, the charming city with its portuguese character by foot on your own. Visit the busy harbour and watch the fishermen unloading their catch of the day, take pictures of the pittoresque fishing boats and enjoy fresh fish and seafood at its best.

In the former portuguese medina you can find beautifully shattered white-and-blue houses where local artists are selling their crafts and singing Bob Marley-songs. Visit the historic ramparts and imagine life in the 16th century on the fortress with its impressing view of the shoreline.

In the afternoon, we start our drive in direction Agadir with a stop for a swim at beautiful and calm Sidi Kaouki beach. Arrival in Agadir in the evening and drop off at your hotel.
